We realize that all guests may not be comfortable visiting the spa at this time and we are happy to answer any questions prior to your appointment to give you the tools you need to make an educated decision on whether you would like to join us. Our goal at The Spa at The Lakehouse Inn is to provide a relaxing escape to assist those who have decided to get away and treat themselves. We realize that its a scary time right now for all, and choosing to try and retain some sense of normalcy is hard because life is so uncertain. Our guests are more than welcome to wear a mask during their treatments as well, but it is not required. However, our team is required to wear masks during all services and treatments to protect others and themselves. Although we highly encourage our team to all receive the vaccine, we cannot mandate vaccinations. Our team is not required to share their vaccination status with our guests nor their employer. Normally, you would have been charged our cancelation fee due to you declining the service at the time your service was to start. If you felt this way prior to your arrival we wish you would have expressed this to us upon making your appointment, through the two step confirmation process, or at any time prior to your arrival instead of on the day of your service. I was extremely disappointed with the way they handled my concerns and would never consider using their services again. I explained my position and she grudgingly decided not to charge me. When I declined to continue with my appointment, the woman at the desk said I owed $50 for cancelling my appointment. At the very least you should be able to request a vaccinated person if that is important to you. Being in a group of higher risk clients, I asked if the practitioner was vaccinated and his response was “I’m not obligated to reveal that information.” I certainly understand that people have a right to their preferences around health decisions but when you are working with the public they have a right to know if they are protected when a virus has killed over 700,000 people in our country alone. I had incorrectly assumed that therapists would be vaccinated or at the very least advise us in advance that we would not know the vaccination status of the therapists.
